Iowa Flex Bar

FOR USE WITH IOWA AFOs FITTED WITH IOWA QUICK DISCONNECT MECHANISM REVERSIBLE PLATFORM.

The Clubfoot Solutions Iowa Brace was designed to help prevent the recurrence (relapse) of clubfoot, once a child’s foot has been corrected using the Ponseti method. The Iowa Brace’s unique design includes comfortable shoes attached to plastic platforms which are attached to the ends of a removable, durable plastic positioning bar (Iowa Flex Bar).

The Iowa Flex Bar is compatible with the AFOs fitted with the Iowa Quick Disconnect Mechanism Reversible Platform to deliver either 60 degrees or 30 degrees of external rotation.

Iowa Flex Bars incline the AFOs at 15 degrees (dorsiflexion angle).

Key Features:

• One piece bar made from tough nylon plastic
• Flexible to allow some freedom for the feet to “wiggle” in the brace
• Available in 5 sizes from 8 inch (203mm) to 15 inch (381mm).  The Ponseti Methods suggests that bars are normally set at the patient’s.
